Q & A

Where did you grow up?

I’m a mid-Peninsula Bay Area native, having grown up in the town of San Carlos.

What is your design philosophy?

I believe well-designed spaces should be functional, have a good sense of scale, great circulation, and plenty of natural light. Spaces tend to feel the most luxurious when the lines are naturally blurred between architecture, interiors & landscape design.

How did you get your start in design?

While building our family home, my father would pick me up from school to take me to the job site, where I stood mesmerized watching the process of our home being built. Thus, instilling my love for design and architecture at a young age. I worked my way through college as an architectural intern, while earning a Bachelor of Science in interior design. The first job I landed out of school was at SOM working on the historic renovation of the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. I continued to work for firms such as IA and Studio O+A, leading commercial design projects such as Williams Sonoma and Levi’s headquarters prior to starting my own firm in 2006.

How do you spend your time when not working?

I love spending time with my two grown daughters, wine tasting, visiting museums, and art shows, going to pilates, reading, gardening, traveling, and learning about other cultures.
