Q & A

Where did you grow up?

I was born and raised in Japan and moved to Ohio with my family when I was a teenager.

How did you get your start in design?

I was always fascinated by architecture at a young age and decided to study interior design. I started as an designer at a small architectural firm and followed by large established commercial interior design firms where I gained design experience on how to resolve architectural spatial issues.

What is your design philosophy?

With my Japanese cultural background, I’m always drawn to clean beautiful lines & functional spaces.

What do you when not working?

I spend a lot of time at the park with my daughter and husband, and play tennis as a regular weekend activity.

Favorite quote, movie or book?

My favorite Japanese word is Kansha, which means ‘appreciation’.
